Hi-Fi Rushâs physical edition was a bit touch-and-go there for a second after developer Tango Gameworks was shut down by Xbox in 2024. But weâre all good now. The studio was revived, is working on a sequel, and isâ¦hopefully not too impacted by its new parent companyâs less desirable ideas. Now, the physical edition of the acclaimed 2023 game has been rolling out, and it sounds like some copies are missing the gameâs DLC which was supposed to be packaged in.
Superdeluxe Games, the Japanese branch of physical edition producer Limited Run Games and publisher 8-4, Ltd, released its disc edition of Hi-Fi Rush earlier this month, and copies are sold out on its official website. However, when folks put the discs in their PS5s, they found that the gameâs DLC was missing. Most of Hi-Fi Rushâs add-on content is cosmetic, such as costumes for protagonist Chai, but it also has a B-Sides expansion that adds new songs and an Arcade Challenge mode. Superdeluxe Games put out a statement saying that itâs investigating the issue and looking for a fix. It remains to be seen if this will be through some kind of free update or if players will somehow be given some kind of voucher for the DLC in the future.

Hi-Fi RUSH.” ÂOn this occasion, we have let down the expectations of everyone who made a purchase, and we sincerely apologize from the bottom of our hearts. Â
We are currently investigating the cause and working on countermeasures. Â
We will provide information as soon as details are finalized.

Itâs a bummer, but it sounds like this has mostly been confined to folks who bought Japanese copies. The physical versions put out by Limited Run Games in other territories back in January were without issue. Will the upcoming sequel have a physical edition? For PlayStation, at least, that depends on if itâs coming out before 2028, when Sony stops manufacturing physical discs for PlayStation games.
