The Adyar police on Tuesday questioned Kayalvizhi Azhagiri, daughter of former Union Minister M.K. Azhagiri, in connection with a case booked against her for allegedly assaulting a Branch Manager of the State Bank of India (SBI).
The police registered the case following a complaint from a senior SBI official alleging that the manager of the bank’s non-resident Indian branch in Adyar was assaulted and threatened Ms. Kayalvizhi, who is the owner of the building where the branch is located.
The complaint said Adyar SBI NRI Branch Manager Harsheen Singh had informed Ms. Kayalvizhi about the need to repair a faulty lift after her representative allegedly failed to respond to repeated requests. Subsequently, Ms. Kayalvizhi visited the branch, abused the manager, assaulted him, and issued threats.
