The National Nuclear Energy Generating Company Energoatom said this in a statement seen by Ukrinform.

The company said that power supply to the ZNPP was restored at 14:20.

This was the 12th blackout at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant since the beginning of 2026 and the 24th since Russia occupied the facility. This means that half of all blackouts at the ZNPP since the start of the occupation have occurred in 2026.

Energoatom recalled that a similar incident occurred just a few days ago, on August 1.

"Every loss of external power poses a direct threat to nuclear and radiation safety. The dependence of Europe's largest nuclear power plant on diesel generators is unacceptable and is yet another indication of the critical risks caused by the illegal occupation of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant," the statement said.

The company stressed that only the return of the ZNPP to full Ukrainian control and to its legitimate operator, JSC Energoatom, can guarantee the safe operation of the plant.
