Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan has shared a heartfelt health update after undergoing surgery, revealing that his toughest battle began only after he was discharged from hospital.

Without disclosing the reason behind the procedure, the 83-year-old actor reflected on the physical and emotional challenges of recovery in a blog post shared in the early hours of July 21. Bachchan said that while his surgery and hospital stay were handled by a team of skilled doctors and medical staff, adjusting to life back at home has proved to be the most demanding part of the journey.

"In Hospital in a surgery and in the ICU, under the care of proficient Doctors and medical Staff .. a discharge .. and a homecoming," he wrote.

The actor said that leaving the hospital did not mark the end of the difficult phase.

"This homecoming period is the most difficult phase .. physically, psychologically and practically," he wrote.

Bachchan described the recovery period as physically exhausting, emotionally draining and practically challenging. He reflected on how illness can suddenly change one's perspective, saying that even those who have spent a lifetime overcoming challenges are eventually confronted with moments of vulnerability.

Bachchan also spoke about resilience, observing that every person responds differently to setbacks. While some fight through adversity and emerge stronger, others choose to accept the circumstances and move forward in their own way. He stressed that there is no right or wrong approach, as every individual deals with difficult phases differently.

"You are a revered Champion and one day a defeat stares at you .. this is the most difficult phase of your life ..some brave it .. some succumb .. they that strive and be brave ever remain Champions .. they that do not, get reconciled and live, exist in the past glory .. a choice each makes individually ..nothing wrong by either (sic)," he added.

The actor concluded his note by urging his fans to stay well and remain happy.

Bachchan did not reveal what prompted the surgery or provide details about his current condition. However, his latest blog reassured fans that he is now back home and focusing on his recovery.

The megastar remains one of the most active actors in Indian cinema. Even as he recuperates, Bachchan continues to stay connected with fans through his regular blog posts and social media updates, often sharing personal reflections alongside updates on his life and work.
