Israeli troops fired near Lebanese soldiers during the Lebanese army's deployment into one of the pilot zones, the Lebanese military said in a statement.

"While the military units were deploying into Zawtar al-Gharbiya, the Israeli occupation forces opened fire near these units," the army said.

"This offence would impede the deployment into the pilot zones," the statement added.
