Trains heading into downtown Auckland are being forced to offload passengers due to a reported fire alarm sounding in Waitematā Station.
All passengers on one citybound service have been instructed to leave the train carriages at Ōrākei Station and seek alternative transport.
A Herald reporter at Ōrākei Station said all
passengers have been offloaded, and hundreds of people are now waiting for Ubers along the narrow Ōrākei Peninsula.
“I’m not sure what the next step is. Maybe a rail bus, all I know is that you have to offload,” the train driver told those stranded heading into Auckland’s business precinct this morning.
