Halo: Campaign Evolved is the Unreal Engine 5 remake of Bungie’s original sci-fi shooter, just without the multiplayer PvP modes. It’s Xbox’s next major first-party release of its 25th anniversary tour. It’s not the only upcoming day-one Game Pass release, either. Detective horror multiplayer game Shift at Midnight is also a day-one launch, along with Soulslike extraction RPG Mistfall Hunter and pirate city-builder sim Corsair Cove.
But if you’re looking for a game we already know is good, look no further than Hell Is Us. You fight demons across a war-torn countryside with melee combat and a horror-filled atmosphere that’s Soulslike-adjacent with some light RPG mechanics. It got buried in the September 2025 release calendar but punches above its weight.
