Police in the Polish city of Legnica (southwest Poland) are investigating the circumstances surrounding an attack on two 13-year-old Ukrainian citizens that occurred last Saturday, July 18.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported on the social network X by Karolina Gałecka, a spokesperson for the Polish Ministry of the Interior and Administration.

“The police in Legnica are investigating an assault on two 13-year-old Ukrainian citizens. The incident occurred last Saturday at approximately 9:00 p.m. on Polarna Street, near the swimming pool. According to the complaint, an unknown woman struck the teenagers. An investigation into the violation of physical integrity is currently underway. No one has the right to use violence against another person, especially a child. It is also unacceptable that the attack most likely occurred because of the teenage girls’ national origin,” Gałecka wrote.

As reported by Ukrinform, Polish Sejm Marshal Włodzimierz Czarzasty strongly condemned manifestations of anti-Ukrainian sentiment in the country, stating that hate speech can lead to dangerous consequences, including murders.

In Poland, prosecutors have charged a 54-year-old man who behaved aggressively toward three Ukrainian citizens, including two 11-year-old girls, on a city bus in Bielsko-Biała.

In Wrocław, Poland, a group of young men brutally beat a 19-year-old Ukrainian citizen after hearing him speak Ukrainian on the phone.

Polish police detained two men in Poznań in connection with an anti-Ukrainian incident. They had tried to enter the office of a Ukrainian company to find out whether the employees “did not support Stepan Bandera.”
