Megan Pickford has revealed she was forced to endure '24 hours of airport hell' after her flight home from the World Cup was cancelled.

The wife of England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has been travelling around the US cheering on the Three Lions, but over the weekend she began her journey home after their heartbreaking semi-final defeat to Argentina.

Having already endured the stress of losing her luggage during the World Cup, Megan faced a nightmare journey home after she was forced to sleep in the 'freezing' airport terminal with her three children.

In a video posted on TikTok, she shared how they were forced to rebook their flight after the previous one sat on the runway for six hours, before being forced to turn around as 'staff had exceeded their time limits.'

After reclaiming their suitcases, Megan and her children son Arlo, seven, and daughters, Ostara Haze, three, and Misty Celine, 15 months, spent the night sleeping in the airport.

She then shared she had to invest in a new hoodie from the gift shop to battle the chilly air conditioning.

Megan and her family then checked in for their second flight, only to face a six hour wait in the terminal.

After finally boarding the plane, they were sat waiting for another two hours due to a missing part, and she told her followers there was a possibility that flight could be cancelled as well.

With her nightmare journey understandably sparking concern from her followers, Megan posted an update video on Monday which showed her flight did depart.

The video showed Megan's three children sleeping on top of her, and she captioned the post: 'Appreciating the scene of a plane taking me home.'

Megan and her family were picked up by a driver, and then shared that the final step in their journey would be a drive from London to Manchester.

Of course Jordan had already touched down in England with the Three Lions on Sunday, after they finished their World Cup on a high note by securing third place with a 6-4 win against France.

Like all of this year's England WAGs, Megan had prepared a glamorous designer wardrobe to take her seat in the stands for England's World Cup matches.

But her chance to debut her looks was hit by a week-long delay when Megan revealed her airline had lost her suitcase.

Hours ahead of England's match against Ghana on Tuesday, Megan revealed she'd finally been reunited with her suitcase.

Posting a hilarious update on her social media accounts on Monday night Megan uploaded a video of her opening the door of her hotel room to see her prized baggage.

Dressed in pink joggers and top Megan pulls the suitcase into her room and gives it a big hug as Abba's classic hit 'Honey Honey' played.

She wrote: 'A special delivery arrived it will not be leaving my sight before tomorrow's game,' ending the post with the hashtag suitcasegate.

Fellow WAG Ellie Watkins wrote 'Hahaha so happy for you,' while Megan added the first thing she was going to buy was an air tag to track her luggage.
