The Ministers said that the government aims to construct one lakh affordable houses in one year and charges would not be collected for the land. The Housing Minister said that the estimated cost of constructing 528 sft flat is ₹11 lakh. Out of this, ₹5 lakh is provided by the government as subsidy and a beneficiary has to contribute ₹6 lakh — which can be paid in four installments of ₹1 lakh, ₹2 lakh twice and the balance amount. The ₹10,000 EMD will be refunded if an applicant is not selected as a beneficiary, and the amount will be adjusted into the beneficiary share if selected.

Good news for people from Middle Income Group soon
