NEW DELHI: Congressâs
slammed
as the âmost anti-youth PM India has ever hadâ as opposition jointly condemned BJP for crackdown on the âpaper leakâ protest march to Parliament Monday.
Rahul said the young protesters are not criminals and Modi should accept their legitimate demands. âIt is disgusting what govt and police are doing. Tear-gassing and lathi-charging students is not Indiaâs way... all they believe in is âasatyaâ and âhinsaâ, which are anti-Indian principles,â he said in a video statement, adding, âModi disrespects all the young people of this country.â He said there is general outrage against RSS having captured the education system.
With state action against students coupled with viral visuals dominating the headlines, Shiv Senaâs Sanjay Raut said âpaper leakâ and âdonation scamâ will dominate Parliament in the coming days. Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav said the large youth turnout proves the failure of BJP regime in conducting NEET and other exams. Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi, rebuking govt for police action, said, âItâs ridiculous... They are the future of the country. This Parliament belongs to them. Itâs no oneâs personal fiefdom.â
DMK MP Kanimozhi dubbed the protest the most democratic form of expressing peopleâs opinion.
