Russian forces have not reduced their use of drones to attack Ukraine, but are simply shifting the focus between drones and missiles, continuing to launch strikes almost around the clock.

According to a Ukrinform correspondent, Yurii Ignat, a spokesperson for the Ukrainian Air Force, stated this during a television appearance, commenting on an ISW report that Russia has recently begun using fewer drones.

“I wouldn’t say they’re using fewer; they’re actually relying more on ballistic missiles now, recognizing the challenges we face with missile supplies to Ukraine, but they’re attacking every night and now during the day as well. When the enemy sets such a goal for itself, drones can attack around the clock,” the spokesperson noted.

According to Ignat, the strain on the Defense Forces remains significant, as after a nighttime attack involving about 150 drones, the enemy may launch more than a hundred more during the day. The constant battle for Ukraine’s skies is taking a toll on both personnel and equipment, so he emphasized that there is no room for complacency.

“The enemy may shift the focus of its strikes somewhat, whether toward drones or missiles. And don’t forget about tactical drones—these are Lancets and Molniyas; they aren’t even included in the statistics we’re providing,” Ignat explained.

He also clarified that the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine separately reports on operational-tactical and tactical-level drones in its morning briefing.

As reported by Ukrinform, Serhii “Flash” Beskrestnov, a special advisor to the President, analyzed the Russian ballistic missile strikes on Kyiv on the night of July 19 and emphasized that enemy agents are active, and we need to be very careful and avoid making mistakes.
